Fabulous Girls Cooking Club Spring Session

Thank you for your interest in the Fabulous Girls Cooking Club! This group is designed to inspire girls, ages 7 – 13, to be fabulous in the kitchen. Whether she is accustomed to being in the kitchen or not, this will provide her with basic kitchen knowledge and skills to help her flourish! Of course there are other benefits such as team work skills, communication skills, relationship building, and life lessons that can also be caught!

This is a 9-week course, but we will only meet physically three times (see schedule below). Individual classes can also be taken.

Each session is only $30 (plus Eventbrite fees), which will cover all supplies. I am donating my instruction time in an effort to give back to the community, and hopefully inspire these girls however I can. Each session can be paid for and attended separately, however; paying for all three sessions at once guarantees their space in each class.

Each girl that registers for the entire 9-week course will be provided with an instructional binder at the first class. The binder will include a weekly cooking club mission over 9 weeks that they can do on their own, or with little parental oversight. Missions are designed to help educate the girls on kitchen equipment, food techniques, and healthy foods they may or may not have tried before! Many of the missions will require very basic and inexpensive grocery shopping, and recipe execution. Missions may also require photos to be e-mailed to me of completed work. Girls that only register to attend individual sessions will be given a folder with information only pertaining to the class that was taught and their subsequent missions to complete. Weekly missions are intended to keep the girls engaged in the cooking club over the 9-week course! I understand that kids are busy and parents are busy, so missions given will not be overly complicated, overly expensive, or overly time consuming.

NOTE: Registration is non-refundable, but may be transferrable, if you contact me via e-mail at least 48 hours in advance, and I approve the transfer to another girl who is age 7-13 years old. In the unlikely event that I would have to cancel a class, I will reschedule the class for a later date, within 90 days of the cancelled class date. In the unlikely event that I am not able to reschedule a class within that time, I will fully refund the registration for that session.

Classes are held Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at a private residence in La Plata, MD (exact address given upon registration). Arrival time is from 9:45 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Here are the class dates:

February 24- Kitchen Basics/Food Handling Safety; Simple cooking in the Kitchen

March 31- Brief Kitchen Basics/Food Handling Review; Cooking in the Kitchen

April 21- Brief Kitchen Basics/Food Handling Review; Cooking in the Kitchen

FAQs

Q) What does my daughter need to bring?

Your daughter can bring an apron to the class, but I can supply those. The class is all inclusive, so everything else will be provided.

Q) Who will teach the classes?

All classes will be taught by me and one or two female assistants.

Q) Can you hold a spot for my daughter, or can I reserve a space for her?

Classes are filled on a first paid registration basis. I am only able to accept a limited number of girls so that I can provide hands on instruction for each girl.

Q) Is registration refundable?

Q) What if my daughter has a food allergy?

Please notify me in advance of any food allergies, and that ingredient will be avoided in your child’s class menu.

Q) Can I stay for the class?

Parents are encouraged to drop off your daughter and pick her up. Please contact me at info@fabulousNthekitchen.com if that is not feasible.

Q) What if my daughter is late to class?

If she has registered for the class, she can still attend. Keep in mind that the class runs on a time schedule, and I may not have time to backtrack or reteach material that has already been covered. Please try to make drop offs and pick up on time!

Q) My daughter lost her missions binder. What can be done?

The binder can be replaced for a $10 reprinting and handling cost.

Q) Can other children come to observe?

Only registered girls can attend. No siblings, friends, relatives, etc. are allowed.
